DIY Drawer Organizers

You'll have the hottest drawers on the block! Totally custom, in the colors you love and made to fit your drawers perfectly. Even those awkward sized drawers, so you can utilize every bit of space and keep your things organized.

What You'll Need…
  • Foam Board 20"x 30" (one board per drawer)
  • Fabric of your choice
  • Vinyl Fabric (or any fabric with secure edges that won't fray)
  • Spray Adhesive
  • Hot Glue Gun (Optional but necessary for making small dividers)
  • Measuring Tape
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Utility Knife

Where and How Much?
I purchased the following items at Walmart... The foam board was $1.47 per board, the barbie pink fabric I used was $2.78 a yard, the black/white damask print vinyl fabric was $3.38 a yard and the spray adhesive was $10.80. I found everything in the fabric aisle, except the spray adhesive which was near the paint section.

  1. Wow, nice! I love the combination of the light colors outside and when you open the drawers there is that PINK color! Maybe I make dividers for my drawers too. Again a great idea Christine!

Would love to hear from you and hope you enjoy! This year I will be shooting videos with Professional Organizer Neitra Blair as well so stay tuned :)Love your videos, thank you for putting them on the web!

  7. This is lovely! Really nice design, and it's so great that it can be easily switched around.

I'm coming to Maui in a couple of months and was wondering if you had any tips on food - specifically the best markets for fresh fruit & veggies, the most well-priced supermarkets, or your favorite places to eat out. Thanks!

  12. We are doing this with a chocolate brown knit as the base and the dividers are going to be trimmed with satin blanket binding in copper. My drawers aren't as shallow as yours, so I am going to be picking up some acrylic cosmetic organizers to place inside the dresser drawers. This was SUCH a fantastic tutorial! Thanks!

  14. Great tutorial! Btw, how much of each fabric was purchased for this project? Just so I can get an idea of how much fabric I would need to purchase if I do this project ^_^

  15. Just wanted to say thank you for this! My dad built me a lingerie chest recently and I did this to line all the drawers (I used bright blue fabric and similar trim and it looks wonderful). I never would have come up with this method by myself, and I really enjoyed having a project! Thank you!!
